Softball Recap: Grant Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Grant's offense. They fell just short of the Jena Giants by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Giants recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Peyton Kirtland spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Jena, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-4.

Grant didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-7 victory against Montgomery on the 11th. As for Jena, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against North DeSoto on the 11th.
