Softball Game Preview: Osbourn Eagles vs. Gainesville Cardinals

The Osbourn Eagles will host the Gainesville Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Osbourn is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Patriot on Tuesday. They came up short against the Pioneers, falling 14-1. The loss put an end to the Eagles' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Gainesville took care of business in their home opener last Monday. They walked away with a 13-10 victory over Hylton. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Cameryn Denhup was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Corrine Robinson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Osbourn fell to 2-1. As for Gainesville, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Osbourn skirted past Gainesville 2-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Does Osbourn have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gainesville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
