Softball Recap: Plainfield Quakers vs. New Palestine Dragons

On Monday, Plainfield faced New Palestine in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Plainfield Quakers' pitchers stepped up to hand the New Palestine Dragons a 4-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but Plainfield sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Plainfield got a great performance from Sidney Parks as she didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Parks has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Kylie Fish was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, and a double.

On New Palestine's side, they got a good showing from Cailyn Hurst, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
