Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boulder). Everything went their way against the Mountain Range Mustangs on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-3 win. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.
Finn Torvik made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Toby Schoenfeld and Miles Love did most of the damage at the plate: Schoenfeld scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Love scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave Schoenfeld a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Gavin Nguyen, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Boulder's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Mountain Range, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
