Baseball Recap: Lakeside Comes Up Short

Lakeside had lost six straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-20 to make it seven. They fell just short of the Poly Bears by a score of 1-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bears this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat back in April.

As for Poly, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games.

For Poly's part, not much got past Jacob DeVincenzo, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Lakeside off the board. DeVincenzo has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Lakeside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Poly, they will face off against Hueneme at 3:15 p.m. on the 15th. The Vikings will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight.
