Softball Recap: Andalusia Extends Road Winning Streak to Seven

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Andalusia ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Dothan Wolves 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Kailey Jackson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, Andalusia's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austin Seal, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. SK Reese was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Andalusia's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Dothan, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-14-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Andalusia will challenge Charles Henderson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.13 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dothan, they will take on Holmes County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
