Volleyball Game Preview: Appling County Pirates vs. Columbus Blue Devils + Official Tickets

The Appling County Pirates will face off against the Columbus Blue Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Appling County comes in on seven and Columbus on 14.

Appling County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Jordan. The contest marked the Pirates' most dominant win of the season.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Appling County took every set by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-5, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Columbus got the win against Therrell on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Appling County better keep an eye on Emma Cicora. She was instrumental in Columbus' win, getting eight aces and four digs. That's the most aces Cicora has posted since back in September. Sophia Dinh was another key player, getting eight aces and three digs.

Columbus was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 40 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Columbus' victory bumped their record up to 30-18. As for Appling County, their win bumped their record up to 18-7.

Appling County suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Columbus in their previous matchup back in October of 2024.
