Softball Recap: Grimsley Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last six matchups, Grimsley finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They came up short against the Ragsdale Tigers, falling 16-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Whirlies were not able to get on the board.

Grimsley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Ragsdale, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Grimsley will face off against Asheboro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Whirlies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Comets have averaged an impressive 14.3 runs per game this season. As for Ragsdale, they will take on Ben L. Smith at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
