Baseball Recap: Dover Comes Up Short

Dover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the York Suburban Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 on April 2nd.

Deklan Lawlor was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Mason Murdock, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Dover's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for York Suburban, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-13.

Coincidentally, Dover and York Suburban will both be playing West York Area the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Trojans will head out to face them at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
