Football Game Preview: Lytle Pirates vs. Cole Cougars

The Lytle Pirates will square off against the Cole Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lytle has given up an average of 30 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lytle is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Hondo on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Pirates were beaten by the Owls 56-27. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Owls: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Cole scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 58-42 bruising from Jourdanton. The Cougars were down 52-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Cole's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lytle, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
