Softball Recap: Clovis Comes Up Short

Clovis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 16-1 to the Goddard Rockets. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, with their most recent defeat being a 17-6 loss on Saturday.

Clovis saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amor Soto, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Clovis' defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Goddard, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Looking ahead, Clovis will face off against Carlsbad at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cavemen/Cavegirls have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Goddard, they will take on Artesia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Rockets surely won't give up without a fight.
