Softball Recap: Kerman Beats Madera South for Their Fourth Straight Win

Kerman waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Madera South Stallions as they made off with a 19-0 win. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Lions this season.

Sydney Yep was a standout: she scored three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Jayanna Gonzales was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Kerman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .351 or higher in three consecutive games.

Kerman's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Madera South, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Kerman didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-1 victory against Justin Garza on the 27th. As for Madera South, they will take on Edison at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Edison's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Madera South's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
