The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will square off against Providence Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Notre Dame is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season.

Last Thursday, Notre Dame didn't have quite enough to beat Walker Valley and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, Notre Dame can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Walker Valley are ranked 29th).

Alanah McDonald and Saylor Schalk scored both of Notre Dame's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 26 goals.

Meanwhile, Providence Academy kept a clean sheet against Grace Baptist Academy on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Golden Eagles. The result was nothing new for Providence Academy, who have now won nine matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Notre Dame and nudges their season record down to 6-6. As for Providence Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
