On Tuesday Ramon Diaz struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and only one walk). The performance also marked the fewest walks (one) Diaz has had since back in May of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fourth in a row with more than five strikeouts. This season, he has an ERA of 1.59 over 26.3 innings pitched.

Diaz's strong effort led Foothill over Mira Monte and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
