Softball Recap: Union City Beats Eisenhower for Their Fourth Straight Win

Union City entered their tilt with Eisenhower on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Knights get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. Considering the Bears have won ten matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Alissa Leech, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Desirae Brown was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Union City pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Eisenhower, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Union City will take on Mercyhurst Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eisenhower does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
