Basketball Recap: Bethany Christian Triumphs

Morgan Township came into Friday's game looking for another win against Bethany Christian, but Jacoby Reinhardt wouldn't allow it. The Bethany Christian Bruins strolled past the Morgan Township Cherokees with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 67-49 thanks in part to Reinhardt, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game.

Several Cherokees players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jett Gheaja, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points. The dominant performance also gave Gheaja a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Cal Lemmons, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

The win got Bethany Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Morgan Township, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Bethany Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-54 defeat against Lakeland on the 14th. As for Morgan Township, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-42 loss against Kankakee Valley on the 7th.
