Softball Game Preview: Clyde Bulldogs vs. Blanco Panthers

The Clyde Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Blanco Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clyde has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight losses, while Blanco will come in with 20 straight wins.

Jim Ned hit Clyde with a five-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians.

Chasity Davis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brileigh Dailey, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Blanco made easy work of Comfort on Thursday and carried off a 16-1 victory. Considering the Panthers have won 15 games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Blanco pushed their record up to 23-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.1 runs over those games. As for Clyde, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-8.
