Preview: Catholic Central Crusaders vs. East Liverpool Potters

The Catholic Central Crusaders will look to defend their home court on Monday against the East Liverpool Potters at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Even though Catholic Central has not done well against Harrison Central recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Catholic Central came out on top against Harrison Central by a score of 42-29. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Catholic Central.

Catholic Central can attribute much of their success to Anna Arai, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Arai has scored at least 25% of Catholic Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Maragos, who scored 14 points along with 3 steals.

Meanwhile, East Liverpool humbled Claymont with a 57-17 victory. 57 seems to be a good number for East Liverpool as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

East Liverpool's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dacianelle Andrews, who scored 14 points along with 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Headley, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks.

The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Catholic Central's win pushed their record up to 2-0, while Harrison Central's defeat dropped theirs down to 0-2.

Catholic Central strolled past East Liverpool when the teams last played back in January of 2022 by a score of 40-23. Will Catholic Central repeat their success, or does East Liverpool have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
