Volleyball Recap: Winona's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

After a string of seven wins, Winona's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Kirkwood Pioneers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2015.

Taylor Williams paced Winona's offense, picking up six kills. Williams got some help from Lexi Lindsey and her 12 assists.

Winona's defeat dropped their record down to 29-2. As for Kirkwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-10-1 record this season.

Winona didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Incarnate Word Academy on the 11th. As for Kirkwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Saxony Lutheran on the 11th.
