Jacobs had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 62-44 win over the Crystal Lake Central Tigers. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Tigers are ranked 537th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jacobs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samson Averehi led the charge by going 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Roper, who went 5 of 10 en route to 13 points.

Jacobs pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
