Baseball Game Preview: Tranquillity Tigers vs. McLane Highlanders

Tranquillity is 1-9 against McLane since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tranquillity Tigers will challenge the McLane Highlanders at 3:00 p.m.

Tranquillity can't be to happy about their upcoming road match considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Wednesday. They came up short against Caruthers, falling 30-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 15 in a row.

Meanwhile, McLane took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Fresno Christian 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Highlanders have posted since April 3, 2024.

McLane let Chris Jackson and Max Corona run wild. Jackson scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Corona scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Jackson a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Francisco Aleman, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Tranquillity suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to McLane in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Can Tranquillity avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
