Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Aledo's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Aledo's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Friday. They put the hurt on the Brewer Bears with a sharp 9-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to TEMPE PERRY's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, KYLEIGH PAWLAK was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was MARINA TAVERAS, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Aledo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brewer only posted a batting average of .200.

Aledo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. Brewer's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11.

Coincidentally, Aledo and Brewer will both be playing Chisholm Trail the next time they take the field. Brewer will host Chisholm Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Aledo will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
