Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 31st straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Lincoln Lynx 84-8. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-4.

Lincoln's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bria Murphy, who went 10 of 16 en route to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Murphy a new career-high in points. Addie Naughton was another key player, going 6 for 10 on her way to 10 points and five steals.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Lincoln, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8.

When Jefferson and Lincoln next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Jefferson will take on Bishop Heelan Catholic and their seven-game winning streak at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lincoln will try to stop Sioux City East's three-game winning streak when the meet at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
