Baseball Recap: Millis Triumphs

After losing to Hopedale the last time they met, Millis decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Mohawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Blue Raiders on Friday. That's two games straight that the Mohawks have won by just one run.

Millis' win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nick Hohman, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Hohman a new career-high.

The victory made it two in a row for Millis and bumps their season record up to 2-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Hopedale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Millis will face off against Bellingham at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hopedale, they will square off against Sutton at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Blue Raiders' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
