Football Recap: Leechburg Skates Past Frazier with Ease

Leechburg came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 48-14 win over the Frazier Commodores. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 26 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leechburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Timmy Andrasy, who rushed for 163 yards while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Andrasy's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 162 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Vargo, who threw for 100 yards and a pair of TDs on only five passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Leechburg was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 234 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Leechburg's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Frazier, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Leechburg is set to take on their familiar foe Clairton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Blue Devils 14.2, the Bears 3.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Frazier will face off against rival Riverview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
