Basketball Game Preview: Canton Central Catholic Crusaders vs. Archbishop Hoban Knights

Canton Central Catholic hasn't had much luck against Archbishop Hoban recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Canton Central Catholic Crusaders will take on the Archbishop Hoban Knights at 7:00 p.m. Canton Central Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three matches.

On Tuesday, Canton Central Catholic was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to Garfield Community Learning Center. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Crusaders came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Golden Rams are ranked 193rd).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Archbishop Hoban, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They secured a 70-65 W over Ursuline on Tuesday.

Archbishop Hoban pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for Canton Central Catholic, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5.

Canton Central Catholic suffered a grim 63-43 defeat to Archbishop Hoban in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. Can Canton Central Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
