Basketball Recap: La Grange Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact La Grange can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Salado Eagles and fell 69-39. The defeat continues a trend for the Leopards in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the loss, La Grange saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Campbell Cooper Sg 2027 posted 24 points and eight boards. Cooper Sg 2027 has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Ella Nygren was another key player, putting up two points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, La Grange smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 21 consecutive matches.

La Grange's defeat dropped their record down to 24-12. As for Salado, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-14.

La Grange does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Salado, they will face off against Hamshire-Fannett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hamshire-Fannett will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Salado surely won't give up without a fight.
