Softball Recap: Green Canyon Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bear River, Green Canyon was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Hunter Wolverines by a score of 12-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their two-run performance the game before.

Lanie Stephens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Quincey White and Kylie Olson did most of the damage at the plate: White went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run, while Olson went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Taylor, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Green Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Hunter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-13.

Green Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hunter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against American Fork at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
