Softball Recap: Ridgefield Park Has No Trouble Against Academy of the Holy A

While Ridgefield Park put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Academy of the Holy A. The Scarlets blew past the Angels 7-0. This was payback for the Scarlets, who suffered an 8-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Gabriella Rivera made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Rivera was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Mayorga, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ivana Capurso, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Ridgefield Park has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs this season. As for Academy of the Holy A, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
