A feisty cat fight will be fought as Trinity Christian Academy Lions face off against Halls Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Trinity Christian Academy has three straight victories, Halls has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Trinity Christian Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Riverside, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Trinity Christian Academy put the hurt on Riverside with a sharp 15-2 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three matchups by 13 runs or more so far this season.

Haley Lewis made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Abby Davis was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Briley Dunavant, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Trinity Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .559. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Halls' offense. They fell 5-0 to Munford on Tuesday.
Carrlee Riddick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Halls saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addyson Brodie, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Madison Turnbow also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Halls' loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Trinity Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Halls' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Trinity Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. It's a different story for Halls, though, as they've only averaged .310. Will they be able to contain Trinity Christian Academy's hitters?
