Softball Recap: Logan Beats Mountain Crest for Their Third Straight Victory

Logan hadn't done well against Mountain Crest recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Grizzlies came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 5-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Grizzlies, who have now won three matches in a row.

Cambree Cooper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Leila Pauni, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Miley Allen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Pauni wasn't the only one making solid contact: Logan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Crest only managed one hit.

Logan's record is now 8-6. As for Mountain Crest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Logan will square off against Morgan at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Grizzlies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Mountain Crest, they will take on Ridgeline at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
