Preview: Greenwood Eagles vs. Easley Green Wave

Greenwood is 8-2 against Easley since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Greenwood Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Easley Green Wave at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Greenwood is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Easley in South Carolina (Greenwood is ranked 49th, while Easley is ranked 140th).

Greenwood struggled with assists on Tuesday (Westside had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Greenwood ended up on the wrong side of a tough 68-44 walloping at the hands of Westside. Greenwood has not had much luck with Westside recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Greenwood's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Nathan Moore, who scored 14 points along with two steals, and Cj Terrell who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Terrell hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Triston Lewis, who scored four points along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Easley came up short against Berea on Tuesday and fell 64-53.

Greenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Easley, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Greenwood didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Easley in their previous meeting on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 76-70 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greenwood since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
