Soccer Game Preview: Altavista vs. Nelson County

Altavista is 0-10 against Nelson County since May of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Colonels will face off against the Governors at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Altavista fell victim to Appomattox County and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Nelson County was forced to settle for a draw. They and Dan River finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.

Nelson County's draw makes their record 2-0-1 this season. As for Altavista, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Altavista might still be hurting after the 6-1 defeat they got from Nelson County when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Colonels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
