Softball Recap: Dimond Takes Down Ranked West Anchorage

Dimond faced West Anchorage in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Lynx blew past the Eagles 8-1. The Lynx haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Aubree Ogee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run.

Ogee wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Belle Cavazos, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Dimond's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for West Anchorage, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Dimond wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-5 win against Bettye Davis East Anchorage on the 8th. West Anchorage has also already played their next game (against Homer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
