Basketball Recap: Elizabeth Skates Past Regis Groff with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elizabeth). They blew past the Regis Groff Fusion 66-36 on Wednesday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-13.

Elizabeth can attribute much of their success to Drake Brinkworth, who posted 11 points. The dominant performance gave Brinkworth a new career-high in points. Dustin Brill also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steals of the season.

Elizabeth was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Regis Groff lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Darryl N, who had six points. Another player making a difference was Cheikh Fall, who scored two points and six boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Elizabeth and bumps their season record up to 4-6. As for Regis Groff, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.

Elizabeth will host Sierra at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elizabeth is facing Sierra at the right time seeing as Sierra is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Regis Groff, they will head out to take on Denver North at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Regis Groff is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.
