Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Parker

Parker entered their tilt with Jackson-Olin on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Mustangs. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 15-10 win back in March.

Courterius Bedgood and Jordan Willis were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Bedgood pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs but no hits. Meanwhile, Willis tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bedgood is becoming a predictor of Parker's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 10-5 (and 6-8 when he doesn't). At the plate, Bedgood scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-3, while Willis scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Willis has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

In other batting news, Terrion Nevels was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Parker: the team is 8-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Conellrious Scott, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Parker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Parker's record is now 16-13. As for Jackson-Olin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-22.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parker will venture away from home to square off against Altamont at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Jackson-Olin, they will head out to take on Woodlawn at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
