Basketball Recap: Zionsville Takes a Loss

Zionsville lost against Cathedral back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Zionsville Eagles fell 55-47 to the Cathedral Fighting Irish. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Fighting Irish are ranked second).

Keaton Aldridge was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds for Cathedral. That's the most boards Aldridge has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Julien Smith, who earned 11 points.

Zionsville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. The victory was the tenth in a row for Cathedral, bringing their record for this year to 19-4.

Zionsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cathedral, they will challenge Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
