Trinity Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden McManama, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. McManama has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, Taylor never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Lake Mary Prep 14-0. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.
Alex Ramos and Chase Heimbach made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Ramos didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Heimbach pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Ramos scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Heimbach went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most runs Ramos has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Kendall Ganung was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Jacob Santos also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Taylor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Mary Prep only posted a batting average of .095.
Taylor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Trinity Christian Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Taylor struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Trinity Christian Academy took their win against Taylor in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
