Softball Game Preview: Langham Creek Lobos vs. Tomball Memorial Wildcats

For the second straight game, Langham Creek will face off against Tomball Memorial. The Lobos will face off against the Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Langham Creek will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak.

Langham Creek is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Tomball Memorial with a sharp 9-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Lobos, who have now won 17 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Karli Challburg made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Izabella Amato-Ramirez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mckenna Simmons, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

Tomball Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 17-11-1. As for Langham Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 24-4.
