Waterbury Career Academy suffers third straight loss at home

Recap: Waterbury Career Academy Spartans vs. Seymour Wildcats

The Waterbury Career Academy Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 69-44 walloping at the hands of Seymour. Waterbury Career Academy has struggled against Seymour recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Leading Seymour to victory were Skylar Barton and Jillian Keough. Barton dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Keough almost dropped a triple-double on 19 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists. The contest was Keough's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Cunningham, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds.

Waterbury Career Academy bumped their record down to 4-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Seymour, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waterbury Career Academy will take on Crosby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Crosby is ranked 99th, while Waterbury Career Academy is ranked 75th).
