Basketball Recap: Freeman Falls to Parkston in First Game of Season

Freeman had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 55-46 to the Parkston Trojans on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Flyers in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost five in a row.

Several Flyers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cadence Hofer, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 15 points and six boards. Hofer has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Estelle Waltner, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Freeman will head out to take on Viborg/Hurley at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Parkston, they will venture away from home to square off against Tri-Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
