Baseball Game Preview: Ritchie County Rebels vs. St. Marys Blue Devils

The Ritchie County Rebels are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Marys Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ritchie County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Ritchie County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Wirt County on Wednesday, falling 14-6. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Ritchie County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Waugaman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run. That run marked the first that Waugaman has scored this season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for St. Marys' offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tyler on Tuesday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Blue Devils were not able to get on the board.

Ritchie County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for St. Marys, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Ritchie County suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to St. Marys when the teams last played back in March. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
