Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bucksport). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Searsport Vikings a 14-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Golden Bucks not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 15, 2024 (when they won 17-2).

Peyton Gray made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gray was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Trent Goss was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Bucksport: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Ronan Maguire was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Bucksport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bucksport is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Searsport, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

As of now, neither Bucksport nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
