Baseball Recap: San Dieguito Academy Mustangs vs. Ramona Bulldogs
San Dieguito Academy had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 7-20 to make it four. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ramona Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-2 loss on Wednesday.
San Dieguito Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Racicot, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases. Another was Aidan Needles, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.
As for Ramona, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games.
On Ramona's side, the team relied heavily on Josh Luellen, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Luellen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Taylor, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Coming up, San Dieguito Academy will head out on the road to challenge Valley Center at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ramona, they will be playing at home against Brawley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
