Softball Recap: Make It Nine in a Row for Cloverdale

Cloverdale put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Middletown Mustangs a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Camryn Bird was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Donahoo, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Cloverdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Cloverdale's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Middletown, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.

Coming up, Cloverdale will head out to face off against St. Helena at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cloverdale's pitchers better be ready for this one: St. Helena has averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Middletown, they will be playing at home against St. Bernard's at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
