Glenbard West is 9-1 against Glenbard East since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Hilltoppers will face off against the Rams at 10:00 a.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Glenbard West is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Proviso West a 19-0 shutout on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Hilltoppers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Ellie Adduci made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cece Atkinson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Megan Stieglitz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Glenbard East made sure to put some runs up on the board against Batavia on Friday. The Rams blew past the Bulldogs 12-3. Considering the Rams have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Lorelai May spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Glenbard East got a massive performance out of Lilly Carver, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Jaras, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.
Glenbard East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Glenbard West's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Glenbard East, their win bumped their record up to an identical 16-4.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Glenbard West hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. However, it's not like Glenbard East struggles in that department as they've averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Glenbard West was able to grind out a solid victory over Glenbard East in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hilltoppers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
