Baseball Recap: Warren County Find Success

Warren County was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Fauquier Falcons. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 8-3 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Gavin Dodson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Adam Andlinger was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Warren County now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Fauquier, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Looking ahead, Warren County will face off against Handley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fauquier, they will take on Manassas Park at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manassas Park has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.4 runs per game on average), something Fauquier will no doubt try to take advantage of.
