Basketball Recap: Hickory Hawks vs. Western Branch Bruins
Hickory was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Western Branch Bruins and fell 88-47. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 73-44 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Camryn Clark was his usual excellent self, putting up 31 points for Western Branch. Those 31 points gave Clark a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brandon Rodgers, who posted 11 points.
Hickory's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Western Branch, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-8.
Hickory will challenge Nansemond River at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Western Branch, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-52 victory against Deep Run on the 5th.
