Newark Memorial has gone a perfect 10-0 against American recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Newark Memorial fell victim to Bishop Manogue and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 11-0 to the Miners. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Cougars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, American was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 18-14 to Mission San Jose. Even if the Eagles couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Amber Hillman made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with five runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Dhawani Badala, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI and one triple.

American's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Newark Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Newark Memorial got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against American by a conclusive 29-1 score. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
