Basketball Recap: Waukon Comes Up Short

If Waukon was riding high fresh off their 76-47 takedown of New Hampton last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Waukon Indians had to suffer through a 80-41 loss at the hands of the Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Waukon's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Decorah-North Winneshiek, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Waukon is taking a road trip to take on Sumner-Fredericksburg at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Decorah-North Winneshiek, they will be home for the holidays to greet Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Decorah-North Winneshiek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Prairie likes a good challenge.
